What do I need to use VoicePulse?
You need a high-speed Internet connection to use VoicePulse.
A conversation on your VoicePulse phone using the highest quality setting will
require at least 90 Kbps of download and upload bandwidth. Please check
with your ISP to make sure you meet this minimum requirement. If you are
willing to use a compressed setting, you can use as little as 40 Kbps, but you
may notice that the audio quality is not as good.
You need a router to use VoicePulse.
In most cases, you will want more than one device to use your Internet
connection at the same time. For example, you may want to browse the web with
your computer while still being able to use your VoicePulse phone. In order to
do this, you will need a router. If you do not have a router already, you will
have the option of purchasing one during the signup process.
You need a touch-tone phone to use VoicePulse.
Whether it's a standard phone or a fancy cordless multi-handset phone, it will
work with VoicePulse. We do not recommend plugging a VoIP phone or a digital
phone (usually found in offices not homes) into your device because it won't
work! All you need is a regular touch-tone phone like the kind you use with
your traditional phone service.
